Where Are They?
I looked high. I looked low. Those ducks are nowhere to be found.

Talk about an empty nest.
They took off a couple of days ago, snuck out while I wasn’t home. We walked the neighborhood looking for them, but no ducks. They are a noisy crowd, so if they were in any of the yards near here I would have heard them.
Maybe they went to the pond by the library where the mother probably came from. There they can dive for minnows.

Reread Make Way for Ducklings. I’m sure you read it to your kids. Remember how as soon as the little ones can walk Momma Duck gathers them up for a move?

I don’t remember reading that one. But Man did we read some books. There was “Little Duck’s Moving Day” where the duck packs his toys and photos and has to leave all his friends.
I’m picturing one of the graphics from that book, the duckling is flat on his back in the living room with a tear in his eye. Emo duck if I ever saw one, dude.

Ah, alas. Gone. They were so cute. I was glad you added pictures to the blog so we got a glimpse of them before they took off to the wild blue yonder.
Love your blog, by the way. It goes on my blogroll as of today.

You are really having fun with that camera, aren’t you?
Did you use the Canon again with those special lens?

Thanks Writinggb. You should leave your url in your posts, I’m not sure how to get to your blog.
I’m having a great time with it, Stil. I’m going to have to skip town pretty soon, I’m running out of things to photograph.
I used the regular lens for this one. You just gave me an idea, I need to note which lens I use on photos.

Strange that my URL doesn’t show up automatically with my name when I post. Mine and yours do on other sites (mysteryoriley, for ex.) That’s how I found your site.
Mine is called “Writing Grandma’s Book: Finishing What She Started.” I’m writing my grandmother’s memoir, though the blog has become a bit of a catch all, not just about writing. Anyway, the URL is
http://writinggrandmasbook.wordpress.com
Hope to see you there!

Ah, okay. I knew I had gotten to your blog before. I must have clicked from there.
If you are logged into your WordPress account when you leave a comment here it should hotlink back to your blog.
I’ll edit the url in your comments here and make sure they link back to your blog. I’ve noticed this with a few other bloggers and I don’t know why it is like that.

Thanks, Kitty! It’s a mystery to me.

You have to tell WordPress in your profile what url you want your name to link back to, it is not automatic it must be put in.

Maybe the duckies went into the secret comment page?
And I remember when I was little, my teacher hatched chicks and I held one, but it crapped in my hand. Good times in Kindergarten.

If they went there I’ll never find them for sure.
I’m glad I skipped kindergarten.
