Well, well, well…

Look who’s back…

It looks as if he’s been fighting, there’s a bald spot on the back of his head. I’ve seen him in the pool for a couple of days and Blane saw him once. Every day for a week now we’ve found feathers in the pool.

I wonder if there is a nest somewhere in the yard? The dogs have been sniffing out the bushes more than usual. I’ll let you know if I find any eggs. I thought breeding season was over. Hmmm.

  1. Wow, I am out on the patio right now and the dogs were sniffing around those bushes again. All of a sudden this male duck, same one with the scrappy head swooped in for a landing in the pool. Looked like a seaplane landing. He stayed for a little while, swam around while the dogs barked at him. I think he was trying to distract the dogs from finding the mom.
I haven’t scoped out the bushes yet. She’s probably in there.

I don’t think this is the same family as before, Max.

  3. Well I got really lucky with the ducks. Never thought that would happen. She made a nest in my yard and I found the eggs a few weeks before they hatched. I calculated when they would hatch and kept a close eye on the yard until they did. They stayed only three days after hatching, but when they were here, they stayed in the pool the entire day.

  4. Hey Kitty,

Glad to see the duck parading around again. Thanks for sharing your Sting/duck dream a while back. That was such a low day for me, and I smiled when I read your comment. You do that. You make me smile. Thanks a whole bunch.

  5. LOL. I had to think for a second about that one. Yeah, Sting and all his kids at my house asking for advice on his song because I’m good to ducks. Then he turns into a duck.

I told my kids about that and they quacked up.
